First Year of Business

Hello!  It’s been awhile old friend, I know.  We hope you follow us on Facebook or Instagram.  We are all over that with the most recent updates!

I wanted to write a post about our first year of business back in July.

As we celebrated the 1 year anniversary of opening the store, I quickly realized how crazy busy life had become.  And finding any time to sit in front of a computer to write a post was getting farther and farther down the extremely long to-do list.  However, I still thought it was important to write SOMETHING about our journey.  Because let’s be honest, owning a business is a lot of work, blood, sweat, and tears!  It’s worth talking about!

Let’s start with the what’s.

What was our purpose for this store?   What do we sell?

If any of those questions popped into your head, well by golly, I’m going to answer them for you!  I have always had a unique way of looking at things.  I love to build, I love to create, I love a challenge.  The end.

Just kidding, but this does sum it up.  If you’ve never been in our store, you will hopefully find a more unique yet comfortable style.  We have over 10 vendors but instead of individual spaces, we intermix to inspire you of how to style it in your own home.  Our style is very much a primitive more rustic style.  What I love most about this style is the relaxed feel of it.  I want my kids yet my guests to feel relaxed without a ton of effort on my part.  IMG_2546

If guests come to my home, I want them to WANT to pull up a chair and sit and stay awhile.  Another detail I like to focus on is storage.  If we’re being honest, my hubby and I both have our ‘collections’ of stuff we just love.  Things from our grandmas, pieces we’ve bought together, (a cabinet full of old aluminum), things our kids have made and so on.  If the purpose of keeping those things because they are special to you, why keep them in a box in the garage?!  I want to be able to display every single piece.  So when we get antique pieces or items, my goal is to give you a different idea on how to beautifully integrate that with the items you already have with your style.

Another fun part of our store is not just our insanely large unique cabinet obsession but we also have over 10 other vendors.  They bring the extra cute handmade pieces that make up the missing link to our store.  Everything from handmade signs to handmade tote bags and towels.  And being we are very much a country style inspired store, I love bringing in local businesses to team up with us.  We are here to not just grow a store.  My goal is to grow a community.

So as we celebrated our 1 year anniversary, we couldn’t have been more happy with the choice and the goal we are going for.

Here a few pictures from our July opening.
