Where Else to Have a Minnesota Rustic Wedding

I have noticed ever since I posted about my little list of barns for rent in Minnesota, I have had so much contact and traffic flow from that.  However, I have learned that some of these barns are either filling up for next year dates or some might be out of people’s price range.  If you checked out my post yesterday, I posted about a great guide for weddings.  On that list, there was an average spent on weddings.  I believe it was $27,000!  I think more now today than ever, brides everywhere are choosing to do a rustic/outdoor/barn wedding theme in hopes to save a lot of money.  I’m not going to go into tips about how and where to save while planning a wedding.  I think there are a lot of great wedding websites that offer some very in depth numbers and suggestions on how to do that.  I would like to help by giving ideas for wedding venues though!  I also offer wedding rental items to help more couples save money when it comes to decor.  Even if you can’t find that perfect barn for your wedding there are so many other great options for having the rustic wedding of your dreams by simple decoration.

Here is my list of great places other than barns to have a rustic wedding…

-Cedarhurst Mansion, Cottage Grove www.cedarhurstmansion.com

-Minnetonka Orchards, Minnetrista  www.minnetonkaorchards.com

-MN Landscape Arboretum, Chaska  http://www.arboretum.umn.edu/

-Como Park Zoo, Saint Paul  http://www.comozooconservatory.org/host/#/weddings

This has many different options as to where you can hold your wedding given how many guests you have.   Very Pretty gardens.  You wouldn’t even need to buy flowers!

-Gibbs Farm, Saint Paul  http://www.gibbsfarm.net/

-Riedel Farm Estate, Fridley  http://www.anokacountyparks.com/facilities/riedel_farm.htm

This great place even offers WINTER weddings!   How cool would that be!

I am not sure on prices with some of these places but worth it to check out.  Also, check out any park reserve websites in your area.  They usually have a list of different parks that will rent out for wedding/events.  Another thing that we looked at while shopping around for venues was Gun Clubs.  They have some beautiful country land and some do offer wedding packages!   Wrap and string lights all around the trees and bring in some great rustic pieces and you can still have a great looking outdoor wedding!

Good luck in the search!  Please let me know if I can help answer any questions or find out more ideas for you.

  1. The Barn at Five Lakes Resort opened last fall and is beautiful! It is in Vergas, near Detroit Lakes in NW Minnesota. Still a few openings for 2013 weddings too!

  2. Check out the Goodrich Ramus Barn which was recently restored in Eden Prairie
