A ‘Must go to’ autumn show in Southern Minnesota

In 1997, Barb Raboin started Homespun Stitches in a little town called Jackson.  A quite town off the long highway, I-90, with about 3,200 people.  She started by making adorable snowman, santas, pumpkins, and anything else that she could sew and selling them out of her house.  Setting her house up as a boutique.  Years went by and she started picking up a paint brush every now and again and painting a few tables or chairs.

Then in 2005, Barb and her husband Mark bought a great building in town.  That’s when the painted furniture and home decor really took off.  They both loved being able to take junk and really transform it into something you would never dream up.  Now with over 5,000 square building, divided into work space, storage, and shop space, they host their ‘home’ show 2 weekends a year in September every year.  And even though it’s only twice a year, it gets bigger and better every year!

I have had the priviledge of becoming their daughter-in-law.  They introduced me and taught me a lot throughout the past few years.  Even though I help with the show, I still am amazed at their creativity and staging.

Be sure to stop out at the show this year.
